However, these harmful substances can build up in the body to harmful levels whichincreases the chance of illnesses like cancer, heart disease, arthritis and other lifestyle conditions.
These toxins are either created externally (out of the body) and subsequently absorbed into the body's tissue, or they are created internally (within our body).
External Toxins
Environmental Toxins- Everyday we are exposed to external toxins. Toxins in the form ofair pollution, factory emissions, polluted water sources, car fumes, chemicals used in ordinary household products and many more. If you are living in the city, there is almost no escaping these environmental toxins. Many individuals are exposed to chemicals at work with clothing, carpeting, new plastics and aerosols all adding to contamination of our personal environment. Even the beauty and personal care products we apply on our body are made from harmful substances such as petroleum, chemicals and other toxins.
Ingested Toxins - This refers to the food we eat cause they too can cause toxin build up in our body. Most of the foods we eat are produced by using artificial hormones, insecticides and other chemicals, which destroy the vitamins and essential nutrition of the food we eat.
cigarette smoke, alcohol, different medication, drugs and mercury fillings are also examples of toxin sources - these are toxins that we do not have much control over. By limiting alcohol, refraining from smoking and cutting down on unnecessary medications we will be helping the body a great deal to reduce toxic build up.
Internal Toxins
Toxins can also be generated within the body from viral, bacterial or fungal infections (as in the case of candidiasis). Other Illnesses such as HIV also impact the immune system. Stress also plays a big role in generating toxins within the body. Stress is a serious contributor to toxic build up in the body. In addition, our bodies own metabolism generate toxins as by-products called Autogenous toxins.

How toxins can harm human body
If not taken care of, toxin levels can be built up to start affecting our body in harmful ways. Toxins begin to affect the functioning of our body, especially the functioning of the liver.
The liver is the second largest organ in the body. Because of the important function it has in our body, it is often considered the most important organ. A liver which is healthy is considered as a sign of good health and that the body can help fight diseases and help the body function properly.
When the liver has difficulty in performing its functions, we eventually begin to experience unhealthy symptoms such as headaches, skin eruptions, fatigue, allergies, depressed immune systems, obesity, sluggish digestive systems, respiratory ailments and many other health problems.

Letter from Beth
Hi Zxxxxh,
In my last email I sent you an article to read about body
detox--this topic is so popular right now!!
Did you know that since the 1950's sperm count and consequently
male sperm counts have been declining at an alarming rate-
many experts believe environmental factors may be the cause.
Also, more and more couples who appear to be healthy are suffering
from "unexplained infertility." Many herbalists feel that most
modern day diseases, severe illnesses, and chronic health
conditions are caused by lifestyle factors.
Many years of eating processed food full of preservatives and
other chemicals, exposure to pesticides and other chemicals in
our personal products and environment, etc. has caused a build
up of toxins inside our bodies. An equivalent scenario would be
to imagine the way dirt might build up in a house that isn't
cleaned for many years.
Since the colon is located very near the reproductive organs ,
an unhealthy, clogged colon can leak waste into the uterus,
fallopian tubes, ovaries and into the prostate. Similarly, an
inflamed colon can put pressure on your reproductive organs,
and potentially restrict their supply of blood, oxygen and
nutrients. This can seriously affect your fertility, in ways
that will not show up on medical tests.
For the last several months I have been searching for a reliable
product that offers a safe and effective body cleansing.

What is Asthma?
Asthma is a chronic inflammation of the bronchial tubes (airways) that causes swelling and narrowing (constriction) of the airways. The result is difficulty breathing. The bronchial narrowing is usually either totally or at least partially reversible with treatments.
Bronchial tubes that are chronically inflamed may become overly sensitive to allergens (specific triggers) or irritants (nonspecific triggers). The airways may become "twitchy" and remain in a state of heightened sensitivity. This is called "bronchial hyperreactivity" (BHR). It is likely that there is a spectrum of bronchial hyperreactivity in all individuals. However, it is clear that asthmatics and allergic individuals (without apparent asthma) have a greater degree of bronchial hyperreactivity than nonasthmatic and nonallergic people. In sensitive individuals, the bronchial tubes are more likely to swell and constrict when exposed to triggers such as allergens, tobacco smoke, or exercise. Amongst asthmatics, some may have mild BHR and no symptoms while others may have severe BHR and chronic symptoms.
Asthma affects people differently. Each individual is unique in their degree of reactivity to environmental triggers. This naturally influences the type and dose of medication prescribed, which may vary from one individual to another.
From the past to the present
Physicians in ancient Greece used the word asthma to describe breathlessness or gasping. They believed that asthma was derived from internal imbalances, which could be restored by healthy diet, plant and animal remedies, or lifestyle changes.
Asthma is derived from the Greek word Panos, meaning panting.
Chinese healers understood that xiao-chiran, or "wheezy breathing," was a sign of imbalance in the life force they called qi. They restored qi by means of herbs, acupuncture, massage, diet, and exercise.
The Hindu philosophers connected the soul and breath as part of the mind, body, and spirit connection. Yoga uses control of breathing to enhance meditation. Indian physicians taught these breathing techniques to help manage asthma. Allergy fact
Maimonides was a renowned 12th-century rabbi and physician who practiced in the court of the sultan of Egypt. He recommended to one of the Royal Princes with asthma that he eat, drink, and sleep less. He also advised that he engage in less sexual activity, avoid the polluted city environment, and eat a specific remedy...chicken soup.
The balance of the "four humors," which was derived from the Greco-Roman times, influenced European medicine until the middle of the 18th century. In a healthy person, the four humors, or bodily fluids -- blood, black bile, yellow bile, and phlegm -- were in balance. An excess of one of these humors determined what kinds of disorders were present. Asthmatics who were noted for their coughing, congestion, and excess mucus (phlegm) production were therefore regarded as "phlegmatic."
By the 1800s, aided by the invention of the stethoscope, physicians began to recognize asthma as a specific disease. However, patients still requested the traditional treatments of the day, such as bloodletting, herbs, and smoking tobacco. These methods were used for a variety of conditions, including asthma. Of the many remedies that were advertised for asthma throughout the 19th century, none were particularly helpful.
Allergy fact
As early as 1892, the famous Canadian-American physician Sir William Osler suggested that inflammation played an important role in asthma.
Bronchial dilators first appeared in the 1930s and were improved in the 1950s. Shortly thereafter, corticosteroid drugs that treated inflammation appeared and have become the mainstay of therapy used today.
The scope of the problem
Asthma is now the most common chronic illness in children, affecting one in every 15. In North America, 5% of adults are also afflicted. In all, there are about 1 million Canadians and 15 million Americans who suffer from this disease.
The number of new cases and the yearly rate of hospitalization for asthma have increased about 30% over the past 20 years. Even with advances in treatment, asthma deaths among young people have more that doubled.
Allergy fact
There are about 5,000 deaths annually from asthma in the U.S. and about 500 deaths per year in Canada.
Common Asthma Triggers:
Allergens- "seasonal" pollens
- year-round dust mites, molds, pets, and insect parts
- foods, such as fish, egg, peanuts, nuts, cow's milk, and soy
- additives, such as sulfites
- work-related agents, such as latex
Allergy fact
About 80% of children and 50% of adults with asthma also have allergies.
Irritants- respiratory infections, such as those caused by viral "colds," bronchitis, and sinusitis
- drugs, such as aspirin, other NSAIDs (nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs), and beta blockers (used to treat blood pressure and other heart conditions)
- tobacco smoke
- outdoor factors, such as smog, weather changes, and diesel fumes
- indoor factors, such as paint, detergents, deodorants, chemicals, and perfumes
- nighttime
- GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disorder)
- exercise, especially under cold dry conditions
- work-related factors, such as chemicals, dusts, gases, and metals
- emotional factors, such as laughing, crying, yelling, and distress
- hormonal factors, such as in premenstrual syndrome
The many faces of asthma
The many potential triggers of asthma largely explain the different ways in which asthma can present. In most cases, the disease starts in early childhood from 2- 6 years of age. In this age group, the cause of asthma is often linked to exposure to allergens, such as dust mites, tobacco smoke, and viral respiratory infections. In very young children, less than 2 years of age, asthma can be difficult to diagnose with certainty. Wheezing at this age often follows a viral infection and might disappear later, without ever leading to asthma. Asthma, however, can develop again in adulthood. Adult-onset asthma occurs more often in women, mostly middle-aged, and frequently follows a respiratory tract infection. The triggers in this group are usually nonallergic in nature.Types: allergic (extrinsic) and nonallergic (intrinsic) asthma
Your doctor may refer to asthma as being "extrinsic" or "intrinsic." A better understanding of the nature of asthma can help explain the differences between them. Extrinsic, or allergic asthma, is more common (90% of all cases) and typically develops in childhood. Approximately 80% of children with asthma also have documented allergies. Typically, there is a family history of allergies. Additionally, other allergic conditions, such as nasal allergies or eczema, are often also present. Allergic asthma often goes into remission in early adulthood. However, in 75% of cases, the asthma reappears later.Intrinsic asthma represents about 10% of all cases. It usually develops after the age of 30 and is not typically associated with allergies. Women are more frequently involved and many cases seem to follow a respiratory tract infection. The condition can be difficult to treat and symptoms are often chronic and year-round.Typical symptoms and signs of asthma
The symptoms of asthma vary from person to person and in any individual from time to time. It is important to remember that many of these symptoms can be subtle and similar to those seen in other conditions. All of the symptoms mentioned below can be present in other respiratory, and sometimes, in heart conditions. This potential confusion makes identifying the settings in which the symptoms occur and diagnostic testing very important in recognizing this disorder. The following are the four major recognized asthma symptoms:- Shortness of breath, especially with exertion or at night
- Wheezing is a whistling or hissing sound when breathing out
- Coughing may be chronic, is usually worse at night and early morning, and may occur after exercise or when exposed to cold, dry air
- Chest tightness may occur with or without the above symptoms
Asthma fact
Asthma is classified according to the frequency and severity of symptoms, or "attacks," and the results of pulmonary (lung) function tests.
- 30% of affected patients have mild, intermittent (less than two episodes a week) symptoms of asthma with normal breathing tests
- 30% have mild, persistent (two or mores episodes a week) symptoms of asthma with normal or abnormal breathing tests
- 40% have moderate or severe, persistent (daily or continuous) symptoms of asthma with abnormal breathing tests

Staying Healthy In an Unhealthy World
Ever wonder why most people see their doctor? The answer may surprise you.
Most people age 20 to 64 see their doctor for high blood pressure, diabetes, joint and abdominal
pain then for all other reasons combined.
One thing these conditions have in common is lifestyle: poor diet and high stress levels are
prime factors in all of them. The irony is that most doctors, although great at medical
interventions, do not focus on nutrition and lifestyle issues. They often leave us on our own to
figure them out.
Although healthy food is available to most of us, it seems that eating healthy has never been
more difficult. Tempting high-fat, low-nutrition foods beckon all of us. And when we feel stressed
and short on time to prepare nutritious meals, we opt for ready-made, processed foods. Over
time, these habits contribute to diabetes, indigestion and numerous other ailments. The old
saying, “You are what you eat!” is proving to be true.
A recent survey shows that 95% of the population suffers from at least one mineral deficiency. It
is widely held that these deficiencies are directly related to our food choices. In addition, the soil
in which we grow our food simply does not have the same levels of essential minerals it did just
100 years ago. If these vital nutrients are not in the soil, they will not be in the foods we eat.
Some of the most common mineral deficiencies include Calcium and Magnesium: an inadequate
intake of both may lead to weakened bones and joints. Other common deficiencies include
copper, iron and zinc - all essential to healthy living.
Daily use of balanced multi-vitamin and mineral supplements can prevent nutritional deficiencies
and bridge the gap between what our diets provide and what our bodies really need.
So it’s no longer a question about whether we need vitamin and mineral supplements but, rather,
which vitamin and mineral supplements we need of the various stages of life.

Tahap kesedaran rakyat tentang kesihatan masih rendah
– Bernama

Our World is TOXIC and Polluted- We Are Dying
| 13% of the human race WILL DIE FROM CANCER THIS YEAR, and another 7% has been diagnosed with cancer but is currently surviving. Do you think there is any correlation between the toxicity of our planet and the global incidence of cancer? OUR WORLD IS TOXIC! Globally, an estimated 60 million people DIE every year as a result or combination of every ailment, condition, disease, natural disaster and side effect of life known to the human race. This amounts to an estimated 107 people EVERY MINUTE. This may not be so shocking, especially as 255 babies are born during the very same minute, increasing the human population by 80 MILLION PEOPLE EVERY YEAR. However, putting the overpopulation of our planet aside, did you know that an estimated 12 million new cancer cases are diagnosed EVERY YEAR, causing over 7.6 MILLION cancer deaths every year? 13% of the human race WILL DIE FROM CANCER THIS YEAR, and another 7% has been diagnosed with cancer but is currently surviving. Do you think there is any correlation between the toxicity of our planet and the global incidence of cancer? As the toxicity of our world has increased, so has the incidence of cancer. BUT – Don’t take it from me…take it from science: The number of cancer cases in the United States is expected to increase dramatically over the next 2 decades, particularly among older adults and minorities, according to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO). The total cancer incidence is projected to rise by about 45 percent driven largely by cancer diagnoses in growing populations of older Americans and minority groups. The study projects a 67 percent increase in cancer incidence among older adults, compared with an 11 percent increase for younger adults. A 99 percent increase is expected among minorities, compared with a 31 percent increase for whites. Is it too late? Let’s take a moment to clarify the various types of pollution that plague our world. We don’t need another lecture about how we are destroying our planet, but perhaps just to remember that living for eternity is not part of our contract. We can obsess about global warming and bicker about the details, but we all know that every day we are one step closer to death – but it doesn’t need to be self-inflicted. As much as we have the opportunity to live, we are assured of death, even though we don’t know exactly when it will occur. Lets take a HIGH LEVEL look at all the various ways that we pollute our world. I did not go into too much detail, but I did provide links in case you were interested in learning more: LIGHT POLLUTION (also known as also known as photo pollution or luminous pollution) o NASA reported that as a result of light pollution, roughly two-thirds of the world’s population can no longer look upwards at night and see the Milky Way. The Milky Way is dimming, not because the end of the Universe is near, but rather as a result of light pollution: the inadvertent illumination of the atmosphere from street lights, outdoor advertising, homes, schools, airports and other sources. Every night billions of bulbs send their energy skyward where microscopic bits of matter — air molecules, airborne dust, and water vapor droplets — reflect much of the wasted light back to Earth. o How does this affect us? The effects are the disruption of our eco-system, it effects our health and psychology not only by the effect on our production of melatonin. It effects our ecosystems and our ability to view the stars and the planets. Alas, this is just the beginning… OCEAN POLLUTION o Over 80% of marine pollution comes from land-based activities in the form of toxic chemicals (Industrial, agricultural, household cleaning, gardening, and automotive products regularly end up in coastal waters), fertilizer runoff, sewage disposal, seas of garbage, and a small percentage from oil spills. AIR POLLUTION o Air pollution does occur naturally but is impacted tremendously by society as we have been steadily INCREASING the amount of pollutants being released into the air (even though the average person inhales 20,000 liters of air per day). o The effects of air pollution are diverse and numerous. Air pollution can have serious consequences for the health of human beings, and also severely affects natural ecosystems. Major primary pollutants produced by human activity include Sulfur oxides, Nitrogen oxides, Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide, Volatile organic compaounds, Pariculate matter, toxic metals, chlorofluorocarbons, ammonia, odors, and radioactive pollutants. http://en.wikipedia.org/ o For more information on Air Pollution: http://healthandenergy.com/ WATER POLLUTION o Are water wars already under way? Water is already one of the MOST valuable yet under-priced commodities in the world, as we are simply unable to live without it…and it is estimated that over 14,000 people DIE every day as a result of water pollution. o Organic water pollutants include detergents, food processing waster, insecticides and herbicides, petroleum hydrocarbons, tree and bush debris from logging operations, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as industrial solvents, various chemical compounds found in personal hygiene and cosmetic products. o Inorganic water pollutants include, acidity caused by industrial discharges, ammonia from food processing waste, chemical waste as industrial by-products. Fertilizers, heavy metals from motor vehicles, silt (sediment) in runoff from construction sites, logging, slash and burn practices or land clearing sites, and of course TRASH (paper, plastic, or food waste). |
